Memories (9) House on Fire (4)

I am thinking of projecting the videos for my final exhibition, but I also want to add some more pieces as I normally have 1 final piece to show. I have printed out copies of the original images from the photo album in order to edit their appearance. This is so that I don't only have a digital piece for my final show, there will also be physical pieces of artwork to handle as well as just to view.

I have burnt some of the edges of the photos as if they were all that was left of the fire that took place. I have melted the plastic film over the top of the image which I think has worked out very well as the photograph gets distorted.

I think that when presenting, I would like to display these images scattered on the ground just as our belongings were thrown from the loft of the house onto our driveway when the fire was being put out. As some of the photos are taken of the inside of the house, I think it would look interesting for some of the burnt images to be placed in photo frames playing on the fact that they are family portraits set up in as they would be in a home.
